Hi, I’m Rebecca Mar Young, Acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, yoga teacher and Mum. That extraordinary feeling of being pregnant and the whirlwind that is the first few months of motherhood, are two experiences that I understand and appreciate completely.

I’m passionate about women’s health and in particular, getting mums back on track after the birth of their baby. For the last four years I have run regular courses on acupressure for birth. More recently Naomi and I have been running them together and they just get better and better!

So, what are my credentials? I’ve been studying and practicing Chinese medicine for over seven years. I trained at the University of Technology Sydney and hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I completed my internship at the China Japan Friendship hospital in Beijing. It was here that I witnessed how well Chinese and western medical treatments work together.

I believe in combining the strengths of Chinese and western medicine. I have also studied remedial massage at Nature Care College in Sydney as well as post graduate studies in Japanese acupuncture, specifically the Manaka protocols and non-insertive acupuncture for children called Shonishin. I regularly attend seminars on fertility, gynaecology, paediatric oriental medicine and Chinese herbs.

I teach pre-natal yoga every Sunday at Yoganic in Willoughby. I feel so honoured and blessed to spend time with women during their pregnancy and really enjoy teaching. I trained through Yoga First in Victoria in combination with Life Source Yoga and Health in North Sydney. I was fortunate to be taught by some extraordinary teachers: Richard James Allen, Neera Scott and Christina Brown. Yoga and Chinese medicine share similar philosophies in many ways and so it is now informing my practice on a whole new level.
