CAPEA Biennial Conference, 2014

CAPEA Taming the Tiger 2014 logoIt was my privilege to be asked to speak at the latest CAPEA (Childbirth And Parenting Educators of Australia) Biennial conference in Hobart on Friday, September 26, 2014.

The conference was called Taming the Tiger and brought together over 150 educators from around Australia. I was honoured to be able to speak.

I was asked to speak because a midwife who had listened to a free call Naomi and I gave earlier this year on how to avoid a medical induction thought her colleagues might like to hear from us too.

I have to say, I just love talking to childbirth educators and midwives. They’re some of the most down-to-earth women you can meet. They’re incredibly humble, relaxed and doing one of the most important jobs on the planet – helping mothers to bring their babies in to the world. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

I have a great love for them and feel as passionately about birth as they do.

I presented my talk to a packed room and explained how Chinese medicine, in particular acupressure, could be helpful to a pregnant and birthing mum. We looked at a bit of research and we delved into some stories from midwives who have used the techniques and achieved some wonderful results for the women in their care.

Chinese wisdom for pregnancyThe info was very well received and many wanted to sign up to our latest free talk on Managing OP during Pre-Labour and Birth. This talk is designed for professionals but if you want to listen, of course you can! It’s basically about learning how to get your baby out of “back labour”. If you can move bubba using acupressure in to the ultimate position for labour – why wouldn’t you?!

If you’re interested and you’d like to sign up, you can, right here. It’s on October 14, 2014 @ 12noon AEDT.
