We believe that we have a responsibility towards our community: our eastern suburbs, Sydney locals, and this wild world. So far, we have supported The Somaly Mam Foundation, Giant Steps (Autism Support), Breast Cancer Network Australia, One Health, and are currently working towards supporting the Hamlin Fistula Foundation, Ethopia and grass roots organisations in Cambodia.
We are also constantly looking to fill gaps in health education, and are running new courses such as our natural kids first aid at home, and Acubirth for couples and midwives.
So whilst you are supporting your health, you are also supporting our community!
At our mums chai gathering in Feb 2011, it was a wonderful surprise to have Denise Love with us telling about her aid work in Cambodia. A few of us were brought to tears as she explained the situation for many women giving birth there. Nutrititon and hygiene are huge contributors to the death of many mums and bubs and in our Chai Gathering that morning we raised enough money to build 2 toilets which will help prevent dysentry and disease for a great number of people.
