Hi, I’m Morgan Langford-Salisbury, Osteopath and Cranial Osteopath.

A little bit about Osteopathy – It’s a manual therapy which works to restore optimal structure and function in the body leading to homeostasis or balance (in other words it can alleviate any painful areas in your body to bring about a happier you!). It can be used to treat anyone – babies through to the elderly. It is safe and effective in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions as well as aiding in reducing symptoms of some other health conditions (read below).

I became passionate about Osteopathy after having an injury. I received Osteopathic treatment and found it to be so effective that it inspired me to become an Osteopath myself. I have also seen the relief it can bring to a whole family. I used to work as a nanny and I know how distressing it can be for parents to see their child is not thriving compared to their siblings or play mates, or knowing their child is in pain. Through treating kids I’ve seen the change it’s made to a child’s whole demenuere whether it’s by helping to alleviate a digestive problem like constipation or improving their mechanics to help with their co-ordination and motor skill development. The child is happy and the parents are relieved – it’s very rewarding!

What is my approach? I have experience in all areas of general musculoskeletal conditions although I have a keen interest in women’s and children’s health. I combine evidence-based methods including soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, muscle energy technique, manipulation and exercise prescription where appropriate but I’ve found Cranial Osteopathy is a safe and gentle alternative in treating pregnant women, children, and infants. It involves using gentle alternating pressure at the cranium and pelvis to alleviate strain in the body. So depending on the patient, I will develop a treatment plan that suits each individual’s needs. I am a qualified personal trainer also who enjoys keeping fit and understands the importance of exercise for long term stability and health of the body so I like to incorporate rehabilitative and corrective exercise into my management plan especially for new mums to get their bodies back in shape!

I currently hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) and Master Degree (Osteopathy) graduating at the University of Western Sydney. I have completed post-graduate Cranial Osteopathy training with the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation and hold fitness certificates with the Australian Institute of Fitness and C.H.E.K institute. I’m a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association and registered with private health funds, Medicare, and Workcover so members/claimants can receive a rebate on consultation fees.
